What is the difference between the FIS User list and the Universal User list; and where can I find these lists in the FIS?
|
The FIS User list presents a list of user id's for those who are, or have been, users
of the FIS system. This list is maintained by FMS through the processing of FIS User
documents. This list can be accessed by logging on to the FIS system and selecting
Inquiries, then Reference Tables, from the menu options. Once the Reference Tables window
is displayed, select FIS User. This will present a search window where you can find a
specific user, or a number of users belonging to a particular chart or organization. To
find a specific user, enter their last name in the Name field followed by *.
(Remember: the * must be entered by depressing the F2 key, then the 8 key at the top of
your keyboard.) This type of search will present all user id's having the last name you
entered on the search window. To find users for a specific chart or organization, conduct
your search by entering the chart code in the Chart field, or the organization
code in the Org field.
The Universal User list presents user id's for all employees of the university,
and is maintained by UITS. To access this list through the FIS, you must first
go to the Document Group Selection window. Select the COA button at the top
of the screen, then open the FIS User document. Without typing anything on the
document, click on the search button (the second button from the bottom on the
FIS User document). This will bring up the Universal User Lookup window. You
may then conduct a search by name, campus, and/or department. (You will want
to remove the "A" from the Act. Flag field if you wish to
see all of the names in the table rather than just current employees.) Those
employees with a # sign before their user id are former employees.
