How can I be sure I'm using the correct object codes when depositing income to my account, or making a refund of income?

An object code listing can be generated using the Indiana University Information Environment (IUIE) via the Onestart portal, by taking the following steps.
- From the FMS home page, select "Financial
Data Retrieval System." If you have not registered to use the FDRS, you may do so at
this time by selecting "FDRS Registration." If you are already a registered
user, proceed to the "DataDirect Templates" screen by selecting "DataDirect Templates."
- You will be prompted for your user id and password. Once they have been correctly
entered, you will be presented with the "DataDirect Templates" screen. Select "Chart
of Accounts" to proceed.
- You will then be provided with a list of the various reports in the Chart of Accounts
category. Select "Object Code Lookup." You will then be presented with the
"Object Code Lookup" screen where you will enter the parameters for your report.
- To generate a complete list of object codes for your chart of accounts, simply enter the
appropriate chart code in the "Chart of Accounts Codes" field. If you are
unfamiliar with the chart codes, you may click on the "Valid Values" button
beside the field, and make a selection from the list of valid values.
- You may return the list to your browser for viewing, or download it to your favorite
spreadsheet application. After your selection has been made, enter your password in the
field provided, and select the "Run Query" button.
If you are a Transaction Processing user you can perform an on-line search for object
codes. You can do this within a TP document by clicking on the down arrow beside the
object field. You can also select Inquiries/Reference Tables from the menu bar. You will
then be presented with a list, from which you may select Object Codes. This will bring up
the object code search window.
Object code listings may also be obtained from the FMS Help Desk. If you are
interested in receiving a copy send a request to the FMS Support Form . They can also assist you in determining the correct object code
to use if you are still uncertain after viewing the list.
