How does FMS-Payroll determine the amount of federal tax withheld from an employee's paycheck?

The amount of dependents claimed, and marital status determines the amount of taxes
withheld from an individual's paycheck. FMS-Payroll uses a tax chart provided by the
Internal Revenue Service to make these determinations. If there is a problem, an employee
may need to change what he is claiming on the W-4 form. It is also wise to keep a close
