Uploading Trakker Files Into The FIS
|
What You'll Need:
-- an inventory file to upload with the file name BCIN.CSV in the C:\ROBOTICS directory
-- a Windows workstation running the FIS/TP client software
-- authorization from the Bloomington Capital Assets Office to access Barcode forms in the FIS (please
contact Theresa Cain, 855-9419)
You've successfully completed an
inventory, and have downloaded the Trakker's contents
to a local hard drive into the C:\ROBOTICS directory. You are
now ready to upload the Trakker's output file into the FIS, and
view the results. Here's how to upload the Trakker's Inventory
file into the FIS, and how you can manage the subsequent correction
document that will appear in your In Box.
- Launch the FIS as you normally would.
From the FIS/TP Welcome screen choose "Enter TP Documents"
- From the Document Group Selection
screen, choose Capital Asset Maintenance and from the list
of document types, select Barcode Inventory.

- When prompted by the Barcode Inventory
Upload Screen, click Begin. The FIS will check the contents
of your C:\ROBOTICS directory for a file called BCIN.CSV. If the
file is not there, you will receive an error message indicating
that the input file is not available.
- A Barcode Inventory Uploading dialog
box will appear while the data is being grabbed from the BCIN.CSV
file and is read by the FIS. Once complete, another dialog box
should appear to indicate the number of records that were successfully
uploaded into the FIS, and the number of records that were written
to an error file. Click OK to close the Upload Inventory
Results screen.
- Your inventory has now been successfully
uploaded. The entries that failed referential integrity checks
against the FIS databases will be collected into a single In Box
document, where you can edit and correct information from the
inventory.
